Pan Canadian Benchmarks for Surgery
Canada’s First Ministers signed a 10-year health renewal
and funding agreement on September 16, 2004. That agreement led
to the establishment of the first pan Canadian benchmarks for access
to health services announced on December 12, 2005. Saskatchewan
is committed to meeting the pan Canadian benchmarks while continuing
to address its own target time frames for surgery.
The following table outlines the pan Canadian benchmarks and the
planned time frames for their achievement in Saskatchewan (click

Radiation therapy is the responsibility of the Saskatchewan Cancer
Agency. Information on the benchmark "radiation therapy within
four weeks of being ready to treat" is available on the Saskatchewan
Cancer Agency web site.
